One of the ongoing topics at Evencki is how to take care of your bed linen. It is absolutely true, if you follow a few simple rules, you will by all means extend the lifespan of your favourite bed linen. Since many of our customers ask us about some tips, below are our recommendations.
Wash your bed linen in warm water using a moderate amount of the washing powder. Please avoid using any detergents containing bleach. It might damage the fabric plus it cause its yellowing.
If wish to keep your white bed linen just the day you bought it, we highly recommend to soak it overnight in a hot water with some washing powder (again please do not overdose it). You will be surprised what kind of difference a little soaking can do to your white bed linen. If by any reason you prefer or have to use bleach, please use it only occasionally.
Newly bought sateen bed linen must to be washed in cold water at first. It will set the fibres and prevent from pilling. After that we can without any concerns wash our bed linen in warm water.
If you have a chance always try to hang your bed linen for drying, it will prevent the wrinkling. Do not use tumble dry on hot, the high temperature damages the natural fibres of the cotton and will decrease the lifespan of your bed linen.
Skin care products and any other beauty products may leave some stains and even discolour your bed linen.
